The hunt is on for the individuals who allegedly burglarized a home in Southampton Village before stealing a Jeep and setting it on fire, authorities said in a Dec. 3 crime alert.

Police believe several people broke into a home on Pheasant Close North last month and stole two flat screen televisions, an assortment of jewelry, a safe, cash and other items. Sometime during the Nov. 14 burglary, the suspects also stole a 2012 Jeep Liberty from the residence, the alert said.

Southampton Village Police found the vehicle burned out in a wooded area off North Magee Street in Tuckahoe the next day. Police released photos of the torched SUV in the Tuesday crime alert.

Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call Suffolk County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All callers may remain anonymous and a $5,000 cash reward is being offered for information that leads to an arrest in the case.
