Cops search for escaped prisoner in Suffolk County

A manhunt is underway in Suffolk County after a prisoner escaped from police custody while being processed Sunday at a police station in Hauppauge, Suffolk County police said March 10.

Authorities said Michael Greco, 25, of Shirley, was being processed Sunday morning at the Fourth Precinct on Veterans Memorial Highway in Hauppauge, when he allegedly escaped from police custody. Cops said Greco had been arrested earlier Sunday on “non-violent drug related charges and for resisting arrest.”

Police did not disclose details on how Greco was able to escape from the police station, which is located in the North County Complex.

Greco, police said, is approximately 5-foot-7, 110 pounds, and has a thin build. He has brown hair, brown eyes and dark-colored facial hair.
