A Queens man was arrested Wednesday on larceny charges after he allegedly snuck into a locker room at Long Island University during a basketball game and walked out with the players’ cell phones, Nassau County police said.

Dasheen Simpkins, 20, of Flushing, is awaiting arraignment Feb. 6 after being charged with fourth-degree grand larceny and four counts of petit larceny.

Police said the thefts occurred on Jan. 1 when Simpkins was attending a basketball game at the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University in Old Brookville. He was allegedly caught on surveillance cameras walking into the visiting team’s locker room around 2 p.m. and investigators said four cell phones and two phone cases from the team’s players and coach were taken.

He was arrested at his home in Flushing on Wednesday and held overnight in police custody. Simpkins is expected to face a judge Thursday morning at First District Court in Hempstead.
