Deputies: Man stabs his girlfriend multiple times, killing her then calls 911

A man allegedly stabbed his girlfriend to death, stuffed her body inside a Rubbermaid container and then drove to a McDonald’s in Columbia to call police.

On Thursday, the Richland County Coroner’s Office identified the woman as Ms. Temukisa Enele, 25, of Pago Pago, American Samoa after contacting her family in Alaska and notifying them of her death.

“Ms. Enele died from complications of multiple stab wounds and lacerations,” Richland County Coroner Mr. Gary Watts said.

Deputies have charged Mr. Faasiu Toese, 26, with her murder, the sheriff’s department said.

Shortly before 3 a.m., deputies responded to a call at 7011 Parklane Road where they found Mr. Toese standing in the McDonald’s parking lot next to a 2000 Mitsubishi Montero, the sheriff’s department spokesman Deputy Curtis Wilson said.

Mr. Toese allegedly told deputies about a woman’s body in the back seat. And the officers found the body of his live-in girlfriend inside the container, Deputy Wilson said.

The sheriff’s department first received a 911 call of a possible suicide, Deputy. Wilson said. The couple lived at a home on Ferrell Drive, in a neighborhood off Two Notch Road and about three miles from the McDonald’s.

And investigators said that’s where the stabbing occurred after the two got into a domestic argument.

They aren’t sure why Mr. Toese drove to the McDonald’s before calling police.

Mr. Wilson said sheriff’s deputies have responded to a domestic violence call at the home once in the past, but he did not have details of that incident, according to a media report.

Mr. Toese was transported to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center where he remained Thursday.

The woman had been living and working in Columbia, Coroner Watts said.
