A man allegedly killed his ex-girlfriend, her boyfriend and himself in a triple shooting Sunday afternoon in Cobb County.
Still, what prompted the shootings, police did not say.
Shortly after 2:30 p.m., officers responded to the Ivy Ridge Apartment Homes complex at 2650 Bentley Road in Marietta after getting a call about three people being shot, according to Cobb County police.
They did not say who found the bodies and called 911.
When officers arrived at apartment 20J, they discovered the bodies of two men and a woman, police spokesman Officer Mike Bowman said.
According to the evidence and witnesses’ statements, investigators said Mr. Pericles Demoura, 45, of Marietta, entered the apartment and shot his ex-girlfriend’s boyfriend.
Mr. Euclides Guinato-Bernardes, 30, died at the scene.
Moments later, he allegedly shot his ex-girlfriend, Ms. Thelma Vinhal, 35, and then took his own life, Officer Bowman said.
Investigators did not say where or how many times, Mr. Demoura shot the couple before committing suicide.
And it’s unclear if anyone else was home at the time of the shootings.
The bodies have been turned over to the Cobb County Medical Examiner’s for the official determination of the cause and manner of their deaths.
