A Far Rockaway man has been charged with murder for allegedly fatally shooting another man after an altercation in front of a Baldwin night club last month, Nassau County police said Thursday.

Dashawn Wade, 22, is facing a second-degree murder charge in connection with the Aug. 2 shooting in front of the Love Jones Café on Grand Avenue. He was arrested Thursday morning by US Marshals in Hempstead and is scheduled to face a judge Friday.

Police say Wade gunned down 22-year-old Daquan Gaskin, of Baltimore, Md., after a disturbance in front of the club at 3:41 a.m. According to police, Gaskin had been shot in the chest and was rushed to a local hospital, but succumbed to his injuries about a half-hour later.

Cops said a 39-year-old man was also shot in the leg. The unidentified man was treated and released from a local hospital the same day, according to a police news advisory.

Wade is expected to be arraigned Friday at First District Court in Hempstead.
