A 42-year-old man was arrested for shooting inside a Lawrenceville Kroger, striking a 66-year-old woman and a teen.
Mr. Leevon Young, of Lawrenceville, was charged with three counts of aggravated assault and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, Lawrenceville police said Tuesday.
He also allegedly fired at an employee, and missed, police spokesman Capt. Greg Vaughn said.
The shooting happened around noon inside the Kroger at 455 Grayson Hwy., police said. Investigators are still trying to determine what motivated the shooting, and it’s unclear who was the target.
It’s also unclear how many shots were fired, but one bullet struck Ms. Audrey Sabala, of Lawrenceville, in the lower abdomen and another struck Ms. Ana-Bel Mojica, 19, also of Lawrenceville, in the leg, Capt. Vaughn said.
Both victims’ injuries are considered non-life threatening, he said.
The suspect was detained at the scene and the gun collected for evidence, Capt. Vaughn said.
More charges may be pending against Mr. Young who remained in the Gwinnett County jail Tuesday without bond, he said.
