A Long Island man has been arrested on felony drugged driving charges after he was allegedly caught driving high on drugs with his girlfriend’s 3-year-old daughter in the car, Suffolk County police said Sunday.
Police stopped Shea McClave, 25, of Middle Island, along the Long Island Expressway near exit 65 in Medford just before 2 a.m. after an officer saw him swerving out of his lane, cops said. When the officer stopped the 2011 Chevrolet, and began to interview McClave, he was found to be under the influence of drugs, a news release said. His girlfriend’s 3-year-old daughter was in the car with him.
McClave was charged under Leandra’s Law with aggravated driving while intoxicated with a child 15 years old or younger, operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs and endangering the welfare of a child.
He was awaiting arraignment Sunday at First District Court in Central Islip, according to online court records.
