A Long Island father was arrested Saturday night after he was allegedly drunk behind the wheel of his pickup truck when he crashed into a parked minivan and had his two toddlers in the car at the time, Suffolk County police said.

Duhaney Duncan, 42, of Huntington Station, faces charges under Leandra’s Law of aggravated driving while intoxicated with a child 15 years old or younger, driving while intoxicated and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

Police said Duncan was driving a 2005 Dodge pickup truck westbound along the shoulder of Jericho Turnpike in Huntington Station around 8 p.m. Saturday night when he crashed into a Nissan minivan that was parked in front of a pizzeria.

Investigators said that at the time of the crash, Duncan’s two children – ages 1 and 2 – were in the car with him. They were not injured and later released to their mother’s custody, according to police.

Duncan was due to face a judge Sunday at First District Court in Central Islip for arraignment.
