An Inwood man was arrested Monday on burglary charges after police said he was caught on video breaking into a Cedarhurst restaurant and stealing soda bottles and heating cans, according to a Nassau County police news release.
James R. Isom, 42, of 255 Lawrence Ave., is awaiting arraignment Dec. 2 on charges of third-degree burglary and fourth-degree grand larceny. He is due to appear at First District Court in Hempstead.
Isom, police said, was caught on surveillance cameras early Saturday at the Wok Tov Restaurant on Central Avenue in Cedarhurst. Detectives said he removed two bottles of soda and three cases of chafing dish fuel, commonly known as Sterno Fuel cans.
After detectives caught up with him on Monday at the Lawrence Long Island Rail Road station, they learned Isom was responsible for another theft, a news release said.
Isom was additionally charged in connection with the theft of two Trek bicycles from a home on Forrest Avenue in Woodmere. Police said he stole the bicycles from the backyard of the home in June.
Authorities have not recover proceeds from either incident.
