Cops identify suspect in Freeport attempted murder

Nassau County detectives are seeking the public’s assistance to find a man they say is now wanted on attempted murder charges for allegedly shooting a man in Freeport, according to a March 5 police advisory.

Cops believe Ali Jones approached a victim along Randall Avenue in Freeport on Feb. 4 around 1 p.m. and produced a handgun. Detectives said he fired multiple rounds and the unidentified victim was hit several times.

Investigators said the suspect fled the scene in a silver-colored Mercedes Benz ML350.

First Squad detectives are asking anyone who may have information about the shooting or who may know the whereabouts of Ali Jones to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
