A Glen Cove man will face a judge Thursday on sexual abuse charges after police allege he forced an employee into a corner at a spa in Hicksville and inappropriately touched her, according to a Jan. 23 news release.

James Catanzano, 53, is awaiting arraignment Thursday morning at First District Court in Hempstead after being charged with first-degree sexual abuse.

As reported, police released a surveillance image of the culprit last week, when they announced they were looking for a man who attacked a worker at the Red Bell Spa in Hicksville earlier this month.

Detectives said the man, who asked for a massage, was completely nude when a female employee walked into the room. He then allegedly grabbed her arm “in an attempt to have her touch him in a sexual manner,” but she backed away.

Catanzano, authorities allege, cornered the masseuse, before the two began to struggle. He then allegedly “touched her in an inappropriate sexual manner,” police said.

Cops said the woman broke free and called 911 as Catanzano fled the scene.
