Colorado's Copper Mountain Resort will host "Copper Uncorked and In Love" to celebrate Valentine's Day Friday through Sunday. The wine festival kicks off Friday for Valentine's Day at restaurants across the resort with dinner specials featuring unique food and wine pairings.
On Saturday at 2 p.m., chefs from around Copper will compete for best pairing during the Wine-n-Wing Challenge at Burning Stones Plaza in the base area. Chefs will create combinations such as sweet-and-spicy Asian wings with sparking sake or smoked wings with zinfandel. Guests may taste and vote for the best pairing.
On Saturday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., the resort plans a romantic full-moon snowshoe tour. The free tour leaves from West Village. Guests may bring their own snowshoes or snowshoe rentals are available in West Village at $10 per pair. Reservations for limited tour spaces may be made through Copper guest services at 970-968-2318, ext. 45861.
Another romantic option for Saturday night will be "Love on Ice," an ice-skating performance on West Lake at 6 p.m., followed by a fireworks show at 7 p.m. over West Lake, located in Center Village.
Copper Mountain is located on Interstate 70 about 75 miles west of Denver. The ski area has 2,465 skiable acres with a vertical drop of 2,601 feet.
