Denver brewery Copper Kettle Brewing Company will be celebrating their 3rd birthday this weekend with 4 days of celebrations involving beer, food and music. The brewery owned by husband and wife team of Jeremy Gobien and Kristen Kozik has seen their brewery grow with each year since opening in 2011. This past year alone may have seen the brewery’s most significant growth to date with a recently upgraded 15BBL brewing system (up from the 3BBL system from before) in addition to a newly constructed patio, effectively doubling the brewery’s seating options just in time for warmer weather. According to Julia Wellington, Copper Kettle Brewery’s Marketing and Special Events Coordinator, the past year have given the brewery a lot to be thankful for. “I think this year represents what we have been striving for every year since opening; creating that neighborhood brewery where everyone is welcome and knows your name!” Wellington also said that she’s looking forward to the brewery’s upcoming months as well. “The future of Copper Kettle is constantly changing and evolving” explained Wellington. “I know we are very excited to have two more year-round bombers: Charlie's Golden Strong and Naja Imperial Red IPA, joining Mexican Chocolate Stout in stores. We hope to continue to get our name out there and have more people join us in the tasting room for a pint and a great time!”
To celebrate the 3 year celebration, each day this weekend will feature a unique mix of beers, music and food and hints at surprise tapings throughout the weekend. “I think we are all excited about every day! I know I look forward to the Staff Showdown on Saturday. It is such a great way for our customers to get to know more about our staff through tasting a beer that they created! And we love to compete, so it makes for a great day!” exclaimed Wellington.
Thursday will kick the celebration off at noon with a “Favorite Beers Night” featuring some of the brewery’s personal and fan-favorite beers such as Rum Barrel Pumpkin Ale, Snowed In, Well Bred and others. Dogtown concessions will be the food truck on site and an acoustic duo by Midwest Rebellion will be the evening’s live music.
Friday will see the launch of Copper Kettle’s first ever sour beer described as a raspberry framboise beer aged for 10 months in wine barrels. Food trucks on site will be Biker Jim’s Gourmet Dogs and El Toro the Tot. Live music will be performed by Bluegrass band Acoustic Mining Co.
Saturday will feature a “Battle of the Beers” showdown between beers brewed by Copper Kettle’s employees. In addition, there will be a photo booth and music by Bluegrass band Groundscore. Food trucks on site will be Basic Kneads and CKrepes.
Sunday will see the release of Copper Kettle’s barrel aged reserve featuring “Petit Verdot”, a Belgian Grand Cru beer. The Biscut Bus will be on-site and music will be performed by Bluegrass duo Aaron McClowski and Alex Johnstone
Additional parking for this weekend’s festivities will be behind the brewery and more information about the 3 year celebration can be found on the brewery’s event page on facebook or via the brewery’s website www.copperkettledenver.com
