Toluca was too much for Atlante.

Toluca FC defeated Atlante FC 3-0 at the Andres Quintana Roo Stadium in Cancun, Mexico as they attempt to advance in the Copa MX. Atlante, on the other hand, has been eliminated from any chance of advancement in Group 6.

Paraguayan Edgar Benitez put the ball in the net three times in the game. The goals came at the 31st, 63rd and 83rd. The victory puts Toluca in charge of the group with 8 points. The home side decided to move their lines up after the first goal, but left openings for the "red devils" to take advantage of.

While the result shows a superior chorizeros team, the game was closer than the score reflects. Atlante also wanted to increase their chances of advancing to the next round. However, it was not meant to be. The loss leaves them with a single point, eliminated from the competition.

Tuesday’s Copa MX results:

Necaxa 0, Puebla FC 0

Queretaro 2, Altamira 2

Lobos BUAP 1, Veracruz 1

Tijuana 1, Coras Tepic 1

Dorados de Sinaloa 2, Leones Negros 2
