Miami Valley , Whitewater Valley, and the I-71 corridor of Ohio/Indiana:
warm front will be the focal point for scattered showers late today. However temps will be cooler today as our region will be North of the front. There will be a short break midday before another round develops
late today. Tonight a disturbance will ride along the front
bringing heavy rainfall overnight tonight and early tomorrow.
Some thunderstorms will accompany this disturbance as well. Thursday lighter
showers will rule early before a strong cold front approaches the area late
Thursday night and early Friday. This front will bring the next batch of
heavy rain and embedded thunderstorms. There is the potential for some
hail and damaging winds with these showers and storms late Thursday and again late Thursday night and
early Friday. Some idications suggest that if enough diurnal heating may occur, that is enough breaks in the overcast could put there area at enough sufficient heating, then we could stand the potential for isolated tornadoes late Thursday. All the strong parameters of CAPE and theta-e advection are there. All this is a measure of energy given forcing of the trough and wind shear in the atmosphere. The other possibility with these rounds of showers and storms is that we stand the chance to see one to three inches of rainfall causing flooding. A flood watch may be needed. Stay tuned for further details.
air moves in behind this front over the weekend before another stronger
system with heavy rainfall and wind moves in early next week. There is
the potential for flooding with this system as well and very chilly air
to accompany this system on the back side.
