Despite extensive cloud cover through most of Sunday afternoon, temperatures rose into the middle and upper 70s around Tampa Bay. Though a few isolated showers developed across west-central Florida throughout the day, none of the major reporting stations recorded any precipitation on Sunday.
The cloud cover around Tampa Bay on Monday will be similar to what the area experienced on Sunday. However, temperatures will be slightly cooler. Skies will clear for Tuesday through Thursday, but the weather will cool down a bit more.
After a brief warm-up with a chance of showers on Friday, yet another cool down is expected across west-central Florida for Gasparilla weekend.
Forecast for Monday through Thursday
Additional cloud cover will persist through much of the day on Monday before skies clear across west-central Florida for Tuesday. An isolated shower cannot be ruled out on Monday, but most of the upcoming four-day period will be cool and dry.
Morning lows on Monday and Tuesday will drop to between 55 and 65 degrees, and cool further to between 42 and 55 degrees for Wednesday and Thursday. Highs will climb to between 68 and 75 degrees on Monday, and drop to between 62 and 72 degrees for Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
Brief warm-up on Friday followed by yet another cool down
The Tampa Bay area will see a brief warm-up on Friday ahead of the next cold front. A few showers could develop on Friday and last through Saturday morning before the next shot of colder air moves into west-central Florida.
Rain coverage from Friday morning until around noon on Saturday will range from 20 percent to 30 percent. At this time, it appears the bulk of the precipitation will have exited the area prior to the beginning of the Gasparilla parade Saturday afternoon.
Morning lows on Friday and Saturday will range from 52 to 62 degrees, and drop to between 40 and 50 degrees for Sunday morning. Highs on Friday will reach 70 to 80 degrees, and drop to between 60 and 68 degrees for Saturday and Sunday.
