While the weather around Tampa Bay this work week has started off unseasonably warm, local residents and vacationers should prepare for cooler and wetter conditions by the weekend. Though Tuesday’s will provide the area with one more partly cloudy and warm day, showers and thunderstorms are expected by Wednesday ahead of a frontal boundary approaching west-central Florida.
Precipitation chances will remain elevated through Saturday as the front lingers across west-central Florida before a stronger push of colder air forces the frontal boundary through the state. By Saturday and Sunday, temperatures will drop to levels well-below normal, and freezes cannot be ruled out over northern and inland areas by Sunday morning.
