Masa Takayama, Joel Rubochon, Sirio Maccioni, Julian Serano, Akira Back,--these are just a few of the award-winning chefs that took part in the Food & Wine All-Star Weekend, Oct. 4 - 6.
Appetizers and champagne flowed and chefs mingled with guests at the opening cocktail reception held at the View Bar, the Aria’s lobby bar. Appetizers included barMASA’s Tuna Toro Caviar, Sage’s Kushi Oyster with aged tequila mignonette and Julia Serrano’s Coca Vegetarian—a Spanish pizza made with aioli, tomato, onion and pisto.
At the Burger Bash held poolside at the MGM, eight restaurants—Avenue 24, PUB 1842, L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon, Tom Colicchio’s Craftsteak, Emeril’s New Orleans Fish House, Fiamma Trattoria & Bar, Shibuya and Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill—served endless sliders in a competition to discover the best burger. The winner was PUB 1842’s prime beef patty topped with smoked Gouda and melted “‘merican” cheeses, PUB 1842’s secret sauce and piles of crispy bacon.
Wrapping up the weekend of food festivities, the widely acclaimed Asian chefs of the Bellagio—Edmund Wong, Patrick Lee and Hiew Gun Khon—convened at Jasmine to create a rare edition of the Fountains Brunch.
