Chinese New Year will be celebrated on January 31 this year. Chinese dishes are kid-friendly with ingredients that children enjoy, and interesting to prepare with choices of noodles, beef and fish, and yummy desserts. Teens can be fussy eaters, and usually want to eat what their peers eat. Chinese dishes offer a variety of textures, colors, and shapes to intrigue children to investigate different ingredients in cooking. Involving teens in shopping for ingredients is also a great way to interest them in cooking and trying their dishes that they prepare.
The Aprons cooking class for teens offered by Publix Supermarket in Sarasota will be celebrating Chinese New Year with its Cooking Through the Far East class on January 25 at 11:00 a.m. at its University Parkway location in the Lakewood ranch area of Sarasota. Teens will have the opportunity to explore different dishes from the different regions of China and the Far East.
Chefs who offer classes for the Aprons program for Publix come from a variety of cooking backgrounds, and they bring their unique experiences to each class. The chefs who conduct classes are matched with their expertise in preparing dishes for each class. Dishes for its Cooking Through the Far East will be authentic from a variety of regions. Children will learn about the variety of regions in the Far East with each region having its own unique foods.
