Did you know? It’s been said that the way you cook your food tells a lot about whom you are and what you want to experience.
Most expert chefs believe cooking is a mastered skill-set as well as a spiritual affair. Nevertheless, I believe that every culture has a unique food philosophy. My personal cooking culture stems from my African American and Native American heritage. Southern cuisine is my individual cooking style which was cultivated by my Mom, whom was born and raised in Oak City, North Carolina. I do consist myself an expert Cook.
Although, I mainly cook Southern cuisine food; every now & again, I enjoy experimenting with International cuisine. I recently partnered with Nordic Ware to test and try their innovative cookware. With the help of two innovative Nordic Ware cookware products, I turned into the ultimate French Chef.
Did you know? The Nordic Ware ProCast Traditions Collection is inspired by three generations of all-American cast aluminum ingenuity and culinary craftsmanship.
The theme and challenge for this product testing was to create a combo meal selection to include dinner and dessert. Yep, take two different Nordic Ware pots, create and enjoy dinner & dessert. Check out the recipes used for my challenge:
My dinner included Braised Beef and Onions in with five easy ingredients as seen here on Yummly.com which I cooked in the ‘Nordic Ware ProCast Traditions Covered Braiser.’ The original recipe called for five ingredients however, I added baby potatoes and fresh kale.
- 4 lbs pot roast (boneless beef chuck pot roasts 1 12 inches thick)
- 2 tsps ground allspice
- 1 ½ lbs onions (halved lengthwise then thinly sliced lengthwise 6 cups)
- 6 garlic cloves (finely chopped)
- 2 tbsps flat leaf parsley (finely chopped fresh)
- 8 baby potatoes of choice cut in halves
My dessert included Speedy Apple Butterscotch Dessert as seen here on Cook.com. This dessert recipe is so simple & speedy and it cooked so, well in the ‘set of 2 ProCast Traditions Mini Cocottes with Lids.’
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 c. flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 1 qt. partially cooked apples, seasoned with sugar and cinnamon to taste
- Butterscotch chips (about 1 cup)
- 1 stick ( ½ cup) butter
I can honestly tell you that my experience with Nordic Ware ProCast Traditions Covered Braiser and the set of 2 ProCast Traditions Mini Cocottes with Lids was a memorable one. Talk about light as a feather American Made cast aluminum! I could not believe how weight less this cookware is. I love, love, love the Nordic Ware ProCast Traditions collection. I have used so many different cast iron pots and pans, they were so hefty and made cooking seems not so, enjoyable. I so, look forward using and testing more Nordic Ware cookware.
