Cooking and baking: Measurements to cut a recipe in half

Have you ever been baking or cooking and you realize you only want to make half the recipe, but can't remember what the conversion is? You're definitely not alone.

The next time you hit the kitchen and you're trying to figure out what half of the measurements are, keep the following conversions in mind to make half the recipe:

*If the recipe states 1/2 teaspoon, use 1/4 of a teaspoon

*If it calls for 1 teaspoon, use 1/2 teaspoon

*1 Tablespoon would convert to 1.5 teaspoons

*For a recipe that calls for 1/3 of a cup, 2 tablespoons plus 2 teaspoons can be used to make half.

*1/4 of a cup would be 2 tablespoons

*2/3 of a cup converts to 1/3 of a cup

*If the recipe says 1/2 of a cup, use 1/4 of a cup

*3/4 of a cup would become 6 tablespoons
