Cooking and Art meet at the New Britain Museum of American Art

In celebration of the upcoming exhibition Toulouse-Lautrec & His World, which opens this coming Saturday, January 12th, JORDAN Caterers’ Chefs Kevin Cottle and Van Hurd will feature a series of culinary demonstrations inspired by French artist Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec and pioneer of modern French cuisine Chef Auguste Escoffier. There are three sessions, beginning on Thursday, January 10th, and you can register for one or get a discount if you register for all three sessions.

These are not just cooking demos, but classes in which you will learn special techniques and get to taste the food with specially selected wine pairings by Hartley and Parker Limited Inc. The classes are not be hands-on for the students, but the demo is not mere showing off but detailed steps in how to prepare each week's menu. You will learn to make dishes such as Coquilles St. Jacques with Sauce Mornay, Escargots à la Chablisienne, Dover Sole a la Meuniére, Cassoulet, Crêpes Suzette, and Dark Chocolate Soufflé.
