Cookies are the perfect size for a quick pick me up, an afternoon or after school snack and even an after dinner nosh.
Taking the dough of your favorite sugar, oatmeal or chocolate chip recipe and converting them into cookie bowls is fun to do and delicious to eat.
The process is simple and attractive too. Just prepare the cookie dough according to the recipe as usual. Instead of dropping spoonfuls on a cookie sheet take out a muffin pan instead.
Turn the muffin pan upside down and press the cookie dough over each muffin bottom. Place the muffin pan in the oven and bake per the recipe times or until cookie bowls are golden brown.
When the muffin pans are removed from the oven, place the whole pan on a cooling rack. Allow cookie dough bowls to cool completely before removing them and transferring to another cooling rack so the centers of the bowls cool too.
Here you have attractive cookie bowls or homemade tart shells that are individually sized to use for a variety of dessert choices.
Enjoy!
Filling suggestions:
- Squeeze whipped cream into the bowls and enjoy cookies and cream.
- Add sliced strawberries, whole blueberries or any fruit with a dollop of whipped cream and have a fruit tart for a snack.
- Place cookie bowls on a tray in the refrigerator. Cook your favorite pudding and fill the bowls. Set the tray back in the refrigerator so the pudding will cool completely. Add a dollop of whipped cream and a few sprinkles before serving these edible pudding cups.
- Put a scoop of ice cream in the cookie bowls. Top the ice cream with some hot fudge, whipped cream, a cherry or some chopped nuts. And viola, mini ice cream sundaes for everyone!
