Convicted murderer Joran van der Sloot will soon be a father and a husband according to his lawyer. Van der Sloot’s attorney, Maximo Altez reported that the couple has completed almost all of the legal arrangements needed in order for them to get married.
Van der Sloot’s Peruvian fiancée is five months pregnant with a baby boy. According to Altez, van der Sloot met his fiancée Leydi Figueroa Uceda, 22, when she was selling goods at the Lima Piedras Gordas prison where he is incarcerated. The two have not set a date yet to marry.
Joran van der Sloot is the chief suspect in the unsolved 2005 disappearance of Natalee Holloway in Aruba. He is currently serving a 28 year sentence for the murder of Stephany Flores, 21. Van der Sloot bludgeoned Flores to death in a Lima hotel room five years to the day after Holloway disappeared.
After van der Sloot finishes serving his sentence in Peru, he will be extradited to the United States to face trial for charges that he extorted and defrauded Holloway’s mother in 2010. He allegedly took $25,000 from Holloway’s mother in return to taking her to her daughter’s body.
