Scott Peterson who was convicted of viciously murdering his pregnant wife, Laci Peterson and their unborn child is mourning the death of his mother, Jackie Peterson. Scott Peterson is serving his sentence on death row in San Quentin.
Jackie Peterson supported her son Scott during his trial yet was unable to visit him in prison before she died. Jackie Peterson, 70, died earlier this month after a battle with cancer.
A family insider stated, “Jackie’s death has not been announced publicly. The family does not want the notoriety that will come with it.” Many who watched Scott Peterson’s trial remember his mother wearing oxygen due to severe respiratory problems.
As she was losing the battle with cancer, her husband, Lee Peterson took her home from the hospital in order to care for her as she was dying. She wanted to be at home, with her family.
Scott Peterson, 40, received the death penalty when he was convicted seven years ago. He was convicted of murdering his wife Laci and their unborn son, Conner on Christmas Eve in 2002.
Peterson pleaded not guilty and has never revealed the details of what happened that awful night. Laci and Conner’s bodies were found in the waters of San Francisco Bay where Peterson dumped them after the murder.
Last year, a close friend of Jackie Peterson blamed her health problems on Scott Peterson. At the time the friend said, “This is all Scott’s fault.”
“Scott’s arrest took such a toll on Jackie’s health. It’s no wonder she’s so sick. This whole situation is literally killing her.”
“I know she’s hopeful the appeal will go through and she’ll live long enough to see her son set free, but that’s not likely to happen.”
