New babies need a safe and warm place to sleep. Until the little one arrives you will not know the sleeping arrangements that will work best for you. A convertible crib can sleep a new baby, converts into a toddler bed, and eventually into a full-bed frame. This will save you the purchase of a pre-bed such as a bassinet, allow you to explore bed-sharing, and you can rest easy that some stage will necessitate the use of the crib in some form.
