Converse and Maison Martin Margiela are back at it again with a second sneaker collaboration. The limited edition Converse Maison Martin Margiela First String collection has the concept of the original 1970 All Star Chuck and the Jack Purcell sneaker, but in a leather painted in white. The more the shoes are worn, the more the paint peels off to reveal colored leather.
“We're pleased to offer a new expression of such a great collaboration between Converse and the Maison,” says Maison Martin Margiela. “The story of two like-minded brands continues with the evolution of the sneaker collection where personal expression is at the forefront, revealing the expression of vibrant colors shining through an incognito white coat that ages with time.
The sleek sneakers come in four styles: Amber Glow and True Navy with the Converse All Star Chuck ’70 and Azure Blue and Biking Red with the Converse Jack Purcell. Each with the Maison Martin Margiela logo on the tongue and come with painted and unpainted laces.
Available at Soho stores, Maison Martin Margiela stores, select Converse First String retailers, and www.Converse.com for a suggested retail price of $250 USD.
