Risen to stardom thanks to a mystifying resemblance to Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg in the Oscar-nominated smash hit 'The Social Network', actor and playwright Jesse Eisenberg is to speak about his career and upcoming projects at 92Y. Born and raised in Queens, Jesse started acting at the age of ten, appearing in off-Broadway shows and TV commercials. His first success came with the horror movie 'Cursed' in 2005. Five years later Eisenberg's role in 'The Social Network' earned him nominations for Best Actor at the Golden Globes and Academy awards.
What few people know is that Eisenberg is an aspiring playwright too. His first play 'Asuncion' premiered off-Broadway in 2011 and his second play 'The Revisionist' will premiere soon on Broadway at the Cherry Lane Theater. A struggling science-fiction writer travels to Poland to meet his 75-year old cousin, a Holocaust survivor. The legendary Vanessa Redgrave is to play the cousin with Jesse Eisenberg in the role of science-fiction writer.
'The Revisionist', Jesse's growing pains with stardoms, his secular Jewish background and many more topics will be dealt with in Monday's conversation at 92Y. Interviewer and novelist Thane Rosenbaum will introduce and lead the event. Questions can be submitted online for the question and answer session. http://www.92y.org/Uptown/Event/Jesse-Eisenberg.aspx?utm_source=92Y_Feature&utm_medium=Jesse-Eisenberg&utm_campaign=Uptown
