Controversial movies that perpetually haunt our minds

The Human Centipede 2: Full Sequence will be coming out to DVD on February 14, 2012. In honor of it, here is a list of other controversial movies that made the audience flinch or riot. (No particular order)

10.  Irreversible – Set in Paris, Alex (Monica Bellucci) was callously raped and pummeled by a stranger.  Filmed in reverse chronological order, her ex-boyfriend along with two criminals seeks out the rapist and exerts revenge.

9.  I Spit On Your Grave (1978) – Jennifer Hills rents a cabin in the countryside, so that she can finish her novel.   She is harassed by four locals who later rape her in daylight. After being humiliated, she hunts them down one-by-one in a barbaric fashion.

8.  Murder-Set-Pieces – Set in Las Vegas, a German fashion photographer murders prostitutes and strippers for his own twisted pleasure.

7.  Guinea Pig: Flower of Flesh and Blood – In Japan, a woman is kidnapped by a mysterious man dressed as a samurai.  The man slowly dismantles and eviscerates her while she is unconscious.

6.  Caligula – The storytelling of the controversial Roman Emperor Caligula (Malcolm McDowell).  This shows how Caligula used violent and inhumane methods to seize the throne and keep order.  The Emperor also had a taste of incest and debaucheries.

5.  Aftermath – A short film about a demented mortician who disfigures and defiles a female corpse.

4.  Men Behind the Sun – Based on true events, the WW2 Japanese army take Chinese and Russian prisoners to the 731 concentration camp.  Prisoners were subjected to heinous and inhuman experiments.

3.  A Serbian Film – Milos, an aging porn star is recruited to make an art film, after having some financial troubles. Oblivious to what the film is about, he is soon forced into pedophilia, necrophilia, and drugs.

2.  Cannibal Holocaust – A New York University professor travels to the uncivilized jungles of the Amazon to find out what happened to a documentary crew.  He returns with some lost footage, which shows the crew terrorizing and torturing the local cannibal tribe.  Karma hits the crew when the tribe fights back.

1.  Salo – 120 Days of Sodom – Four Fascists kidnap a group of teenage boys and girls and take them to a palace.  Four prostitutes recount their exotic stories while each victim is subject to torture and humiliation.
