Maci Bookout may be competing in the “Dare to Dance” competition, but her former co-star may land a gig on the actual “Dancing with the Stars.” According to an August 21 report, the former “Teen Mom” was offered a spot on the 17th season of the hit ABC show.
Abraham has been busy touring the country to promote her adult film and has reportedly failed to responds to ABC’s request yet. However, she isn’t alone and some big name celebrities have also failed to respond as of August 21.
A source said, “So far, they are awaiting confirmations from John Stamos, former baseball player Jason Varitek, Paula Deen, Backdoor Teen Mom star Farrah Abraham, Tanning Mom Patricia Krentcil, a WWE Superstar, Bella Thorne and Seth MacFarlane! They are hoping for confirmations soon, but it’s coming down to the last minute. None of these people are definites, but they have been asked and it’s in their hand.”
Controversy for the new season?
It appears that “Dancing with the Stars,” which is typically a family friendly show, is looking to stretch the boundaries this season with the potential cast. Farrah Abraham starred in an adult film earlier this summer and has been making appearances at strip clubs across the country.
Bristol Palin was a teen parent and also on the show, but she was also the daughter of Vice-Presidential candidate Sarah Palin, so it was easier to explain to children just who Bristol Palin was at the time. However, parents may have a harder time explaining Farrah Abraham, only being able to say she starred on the MTV show “Teen Mom.”
Interestingly, Patricia Krentcil was involved (and may still be) in a feud with Farrah Abraham. “Tanning Mom” has made it clear she does not agree with the “Teen Mom’s” choices ever since they were in rehab together last month. Would casting both of them on “Dancing with the Star” really be the best choice, or is the show going for something more controversial this season?
That may be the case as they are also considering casting Paula Deen! Deen still has a large fan base that has been supporting her through her recent controversy, but the majority of the country isn’t exactly ‘Team Deen.’
Then, there is the ever controversial Seth MacFarlane. The “Family Guy” creator hosted The Academy Awards this past February and raised some eyebrows with a few of his jokes.
Waiting a decision
No one has been confirmed for the 17th season of “Dancing with the Stars” just yet. However, with just under two weeks until the big announcement is made on “Good Morning America,” expect there to be many more casting rumors floating around.
