Curly hair can be fabulous and yet exhausting to maintain. There are some days that it just doesn't seem to want to cooperate. The secret (obviously) to making them bounce yet behave is all in the products that you choose, right? No really. It's product plus practice and a darn good stylist.
Ever since Shirley Temple's enviable curls we have all stared on longingly hoping to get the look. Well here are some great products and the advice of Stylist Ricky Pennisi who has specialized curly hair since 1995 and founder of RICI products, try them and you too can have the ringlets of Nicole Kidman.
Start with Dove Dry Oil Shampoo and Conditioner.
Then after blotting dry add a leave in spray conditioner such as Evo Day of Grace, it keeps hair moisturized without weighing it down.
Tame frizz by adding New York Streets Paste to each section of the hair.
Then apply shine serum like Philip B Anti-Frizz Formula 57 all over and watch the frizzies fizzle.
Finish off with a little hair spray; especially one that can combat humidity (because here comes August), such as Got2b guardian angel frizz taming hairspray.
If you find your curls lagging at any time refresh them using RICI memory mist. It’s not just awesome but every time you purchase this or any of the RICI product line 25% of the sale is donated to Autism Speaks.
Never comb through the curls before styling - it separates the curl too much and creates frizz. Only comb curls when wet with conditioner in the hair.” says.
Keep the layers longer and remove more weight from the interior. This will give more volume on top and better control through the interior. Try to avoid cutting bangs if possible.
Always use a heat protective styler. Dry hair is prone to heat damage so make sure you choose your hair dryer with IONTEC technology which restores shine and prevents frizz.
Do not wash hair every day instead in a spray bottle mix a tablespoon of RICI conditioner to 8 ounces of water, shake well and spritz hair lightly to revive curls.
