Henrietta Sherman, the Exotrol CEO has been kidnapped by Liber8. While it’s nice to see Carlos and Kiera take on a slightly different case, it’s a tad predictable. Carlos and Kiera determine it had to be an inside job early on, and there are really only two people that the viewers have met who fit the profile. As it turns out, they are both involved. Aside from that, the case is alright. The end with Henrietta strapped to a bomb is the main redeeming point. Did you enjoy the case?
Liber8 decides to farm out their work. Kagame has been talking about joining forces with the current movements of this age, but it would be better to see Kagame or one of the other terrorists addressing these new members or maybe having a joint meeting or something. This would have been much more entertaining. While this episode does showcase more of Kagame’s methods, it isn’t the most exciting in terms of scenes with them physically in them. This episode seems to be more about their message rather than developing them as characters. Did you enjoy Liber8 this episode or do you wish there was more time spent with them?
The writers explore more of people’s beliefs in this episode. Alec’s stepfather, Roland, shows that he isn’t the same as Liber8. Previous episodes have shown him preaching a similar method, but he doesn’t share their methods. It’s nice to get more of a sense of his beliefs. Roland’s not a major character by any means, but he is becoming a more developed character. This is the first time that Kiera really shows that she might believe similar things to Liber8. She is familiar with how Kagame operates, and the scene in 2077, she voices a concern almost identical to Liber8. Her beliefs haven’t really come up before, and it would be great to explore them more. She is a protector, a cop, and she is tasked with taking down terrorists, but just because she doesn’t agree with their methods, doesn’t mean she can’t identify with them.
