'Continuum' goes after family (Photos)

Kellog: “What no hello?”

Kiera: “The last time I met you here, you were carrying a live grenade. Then we almost got blown up by a mine, so forgive me for not being polite.”

Kellog: “I’m exciting to be around, what can I say?”

Kiera: “So this is a Kevlar optional affair?”

“A Test of Time” is the newest episode of Continuum. Warning this article does contain spoilers. To review the last case file, click here. Continuum airs Monday nights at 7 on Syfy, channel 60 for Houstonians.

Kagame has decided to change up his attack plan. He wants to go after Kiera by taking out her grandmother. This is an interesting plan of attack, and it begins to test the science and limits of them being back in time. Of course there isn’t anything definitely learned about what happens when you kill someone’s ancestor, but it is nice that the writers play with that option a bit. In addition to a new game plan, Kagame works on trying to get his men under control. The only problem child is Travis. These two seem to be building up to a big showdown. Who do you think will win in a Travis vs. Kagame showdown?

Once Kiera figures out what Liber8 is up to, she and Carlos work on protecting all the Lily Jones out there. This is one of those episodes where the police aspect of it all takes a backseat. Now there is nothing wrong with that. What the writers need to do, however, is to have Carlos question Kiera more. Some of her lies aren’t that great, and she gives him very little to go on most of the time. In order to make him not seem like a complete idiot, Carlos needs to start demanding more answers from Kiera or do some investigating of his own. Do you think Carlos should start poking around more?

Kiera’s conversations with her grandmother, Lily are one of the best things about the episode. There have always been little emotional moments, usually though flashbacks to Kiera in 2077, but this time these moments make up a good bit of the episode. The writers also manage to make Kellog’s time spent with his grandmother, Maddie, useful. In the last episode, there really didn’t seem to be a point to watching him bond with her. However because of those scenes, her death is much more impactful than it would have been if the viewers only knew that she was Kellog’s grandmother. Did you love Kiera and Lily’s time together?
