Alec: “How can you know that Carlos isn’t guilty? You’ve only known him for a few months.”
Kiera: “Same amount of time I’ve known you.”
Alec: “Yes, but I’m different.”

It’s about time to have an episode that is Carlos-centric. This one reveals a bit of Carlos’ past as well as his character. He puts his career on the line to protect his friends. What would have been great is to have more of Carlos speaking about his feelings. Okay, that sounds a little weird, but he is clearly wrestling with a lot of things. He didn’t really open up too much to Kiera, and so all the viewers see him do is work out his issues with a punching bag. It makes sense that he can’t completely open up to Kiera, but there has to be someone he can call or just some way to show more of what’s going on in his mind. What do you think?
This is a great friendship episode. Kiera really learns more about being a friend in this time. At Alec’s suggestion, she tries to get to hang out with Carlos outside of work. This doesn’t really happen, but during the course of the case, she shows just how much of a friend she is to Carlos. One of the great things is that Inspector Dillon tries to pull Kiera from this case because it doesn’t connect to Liber8. It’s a small moment, but the writers are showing that yes, they realize that Kiera shouldn’t be on this case, and yet she stretches the truth a little bit to be on it for Carlos. What did you think of the episode?
The last episode showed scenes in 2077 where Kiera voices that perhaps there is some merit to what Liber8 is doing. In this episode, the writers show that Kiera’s life back home isn’t all that great. Previously, her life has seemed just about perfect, and it makes sense that it is portrayed that way. Kiera is missing home, and so why would she recall the bad memories? Kiera reveals that not everything is great in her marriage. Of course, it is hard to know just how long ago that scene took place (as in how long before she got sent here). Is she still in a loving marriage with her husband or are things on the rocks? Did you enjoy learning more about Kiera’s marriage?
