October 3, 2013

As of October 3, 2013 the realms of Faerun in the Neverwinter MMO have been seeing a fair barrage of announcements concerning; new weekly sales, their latest lockbox, a new Call to Arms event, and probably most exciting of all, for many of the players, further news of their promised server merge. With so many announcements, the official website found here, makes for the best means of covering them all. While each individual news announcement will be linked below following their details.

First of all the pending server merge; while many MMO's and their communities have viewed server merges as a symptom attributed to a failure of the game involved, the shattered realms of Faerun simply cannot. The reality of the story making up the lore of the game itself cannot help but recognize how differently this announcement would be received. For those familiar with the lore, this merge is akin to a restoration of the realms shattered by the spell plague. While for others it may be exciting simply to know that their friends that may have joined the game from different servers will now be able to play alongside one another without the duress of starting up a whole new character. Those that have been playing since the onset of this game, even in beta; knew already that this has been an intended goal of the developers all along. A new Call to Arms event, further enforces the excitement of friends being joined together soon. The previous Call to Arms was their first event of this kind. As of today October 3, 2013 a second call to arms has been made. Helm's hold has issued this call rewarding a Helmite Ghost Paladin companion to those lucky enough to be awarded such; a spirit akin to those which swore their oaths to the guardian god to protect the world from evil. While this is certainly not the only reward this call provides, it is certain to create a driving force behind the Helm's Hold Call to Arms while this event is active. The official news listing with full details can be found here.

As the feywild lockboxes make their exit, the Dark Forest lockbox creates a new incentive to invest in the purchase of Enchanted Keys from their money market. Players that may not have found the feywild lockbox enticements tempting enough, may now find themselves tempted with top rewards this box has to offer. An Owlbear mount, once a fierce predator of the Feywild now tamed as a mount for lucky adventures to gambit a chance at owning or the Pseudodragon companion, a venom tipped tail and bite made worse by that very poisonous assault will both soon be seen about the Protector's Enclave as those lucky enough to find them in these lockboxes make their presence known. Additional upgrades and changes have been applied to other previous rewards these lockboxes have to offer, for the news announcement detailing everything these boxes award click here.

Last but definitely not the least of these latest announcements from the Neverwinter MMO, are the latest addition of weekly sale items. As of last week, the Neverwinter money-market has begun rotating price reductions on select items that will change on a weekly basis. To see the latest percentages of reduction and the items to which they apply click here.

Server merges, a new event, the addition of the latest lockbox, and weekly sales give little in way of portraying just how well Cryptic and Perfect World have been striving to bring a progressively better MMO experience to all the players of Neverwinter. Anyone still lagging to give this game a shot, or possibly having tried it previously only to feel un-impressed, could indeed feel a rising desire to surrender to the realms of Faerun and all it continues to bring regularly to those playing.
