11 Not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; 12 rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer; 13 distributing to the needs of the saints, given to hospitality.” (Romans 12:11-13)

There are people all around the world in need of encouragement. Encouragement lifts the emotions and outlook on life. Problems and difficulties are sure to come. Proper encouragement helps a person be victorious in the midst of them. Hope increases and the zest of living renews. One obtains greater abilities to focus and continue on through the problems triumphing over them.

Prayer is a catalyst in offering encouragement to others. Prayer is to be consistent and persistent. Steadfast means “constant, reliable, unwavering, firm in purpose or faith, and firmly established.”[1] Believers in Christ Jesus gain discernment in responding to the needs of others. The Holy Spirit aids in the diligence of fervently serving the Lord via prayer. Communication with God builds up the person praying and for the ones receiving prayer.

Challenge: Believer, be steadfast in your prayers! They are an encouragement of hope in rejoicing through trying times. Amen!
