Meanwhile, got horse? As fellow Examiner,  Linda Ann Nickerson first reported, Disney is holding a nation-wide search for horses to play Secretariat and others in it's upcoming film based on the legendary Triple-Crown Winner.

The film, which stars Diane Lane as Penny Chenery, the owner of Meadow Farm and Secretariat, has a script by Mike Rich of 'Finding Forrester' and 'The Rookie.'

Casting for the lead equine has been closed, at least for the moment, but have no fear, your horse may still find it's way onto the Silver Screen.

Disney Pictures is currently seeking extras for the movie which will be filming in the Lexington and Louisville areas. The approximate two-week filming duration is slated to begin at the end of September. All types and ages of are needed!

Those interested must BRING A NON-RETURNABLE CURRENT SNAPSHOT OF THEMSELVES, as no photos will be taken at the casting call.
