Contest allows LOST fans to show their love

In honor of Valentine’s Day, here’s a contest for those of you who ♥ love ♥ LOST.  CafePress is sponsoring a LOST Design Contest for the best original LOST fan-designed t-shirt ever! Designs may submitted in five categories:

1. The Island (themes include monsters, magical healing powers, moving the island – tag with LOSTISLND);
2. Dharma Initiative (themes include Hanso Foundation, Dr. Pierre Chang, The Hatch, The Orchid, The Looking Glass – tag with LOSTDHRMA);
3. Airlines (themes include Oceanic, flight 815, Oceanic 6, castaways, plane crash, Ajira Airways, Frank Lapidus – tag with LOSTAIRLN);
4. Love “Squares” (themes include Jack/Kate, Sawyer/Kate, Jack/Juliet, Sawyer/Juliet, Kate/Jack/Sawyer, Kate/Juliet/Sawyer – tag with LOSTLOVSQ); and
5. The Others (themes include Natives, Hostiles, Ben, Ethan, Richard, Jacob, God-like being, “the list,” Barracks – tag with LOSTOTHRS).

You could win one of five prizes that include a $200 CafePress gift certificate, LOST seasons 1-5 DVD box sets, and a t-shirt signed by Naveen Andrews, Emilie de Ravin, Michael Emerson, Jeff Fahey, Matthew Fox, Jorge Garcia, Daniel Dae Kim, Yunjin Kim, Ken Leung, Evangeline Lilly, Terry O’Quinn, Harold Perrineau, and Zuleikha Robinson. One prize package will be awarded in each category. The grand prize is a 4-night trip for two to Oahu, Hawaii including airfare and hotel – with the winner being selected by a LOST producer from among the five category winners. Holy namaste!

You are encouraged to create original artwork, designs and slogans based on and/or inspired by the series. Please note that you must be at least 18 years old and a legal resident of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia to enter. In order to create an entry, you must have a CafePress store. Then simply upload your LOST image to your CafePress account, tag the image with the appropriate tag (see list, above), and create a T-Shirt displaying the image. There is no limit to the number of entries you submit, however they must follow these LOST fan merchandise rules:

What you can do:

• OK to use the names of characters (past or present) from the television series LOST
• OK to alter or utilize any of the fictional logos depicted in the television series LOST however, your Fan Design may not consist solely of an exact replication of any fictional logo
• Examples of fictional logos include: the "official" logo for The Dharma Initiative, the Oceanic Airways and Aijira Airways logos, the logos for Widmore Corporation, Hanso Foundation, Drive Shaft, Geronimo Jackson, Mr. Cluck's Chicken Shack, etc.

What you can’t do:

• No use, replication, alteration or reproduction of any official LOST logo, including the block letter logo. Designs using the LOST block letter logo font or any of the other official LOST logo fonts when spelling out "LOST" in any configuration (i.e. stacked, vertical, horizontal, uneven, etc.) will not be approved.
• No use of the television series opening and closing visuals and end credits
• No use of an artist's signature or URL (i.e., website address), whether actual or fictional
• No use of the first or last names of, or the image, photo, likeness, silhouette or other depiction of, the actors in, or writers, directors or producers of, the television series LOST
• No use of the image of any real person (historical or present day)
• No use of any content owned or controlled by a third party
• No advertising of any businesses, products or services of a third party
• No profanity, vulgar, hate language or graphically violent images
• No explicit sexual language, images or graphics
• No reference to drugs or medication
• No derogatory reference to race, gender, religion, mental handicap, obesity or physical impairment
• No use of copyrighted material from the television series or its promotional materials (e.g., no use of images from posters, advertisements, the LOST television series, or the LOST website)
• No images of existing LOST merchandise or consumer products (e.g., novels, trading cards, books, action figures, magazines)
• No political party associations (e.g. Republican, Democratic)
• No Undergarments (you cannot create LOST thongs or boxer shorts)
