Before launching your inbound marketing campaign, you must understand...Content is King. What exactly does that mean?
Inbound marketing is the act of publishing content online that is designed to attract your ideal customers to you. your ideal customers are online. they are looking for someone who provides the goods and services you offer. if your inbound marketing campaign is successful, they will find you. If it is not, they will find someone else.
Inbound marketing involves attracting your ideal customers to you. In much the same way that an attractive car in the parking lot invites people to walk closer, look and take it for a test drive, inbound marketing invites people to come closer to doing business with you.
The opposite is outbound marketing. Outbound marketing is the act of sending marketing messages to people and hoping some will respond. Outbound marketing is rather intrusive. It includes phone calls, TV ads, radio ads, bulk mail and bulk e-mail. Outbound is less effective than it used to be. We have found ways to filter outbound marketing from our lives. We have caller ID on our phones. We use caller ID to screen calls. TV and radio ads are less effective. we record TV shows and play them back at our convenience. we fast forward through commercials. Bulk mail no longer works. We sort mail over the Recycle Bin. Bulk e-mail does not work. We get business-class SPAM filters that keep SPAM out of our IN Boxes.
As you decide where to spend your precious time and money, you should ask, "Inbound or outbound"? You need to know who your ideal customer is. You need to ask if they have some means to filter your messages before paying serious attention to them. We've all dealt with intrusive phone calls, commercials and bulk mail. They are less effective. They are classic examples of outbound marketing. You need to adopt inbound marketing if you want your ideal customers to find you.
