Tomorrow (Friday) night at the Salon Madrid Events Center, 6595 Monaco St. in Commerce City, Airtight Boxing/MMA (Steve Mestas) presents CONTENDERS featuring in the main event Kirstie Simmons (3-1) vs Betty Stevens (debut) in a scheduled for 4 rounds bantamweight contest.

Simmons is well-known in Colorado boxing her being a former (amateur) Ringside World Champion and National Golden Gloves champ and now considered a rising professional prospect.

The under card features an interesting array of talent, none more impressive than Donald Cobb, a 3-times Colorado Golden Gloves champ, taking on Fino Soltero in a scheduled for 4 rounds light heavyweight bout, both men making their professional debuts.

Lightweights Armando Rodriguez (2-1) and Francisco Lopez (1-0) tangle in a scheduled for 5 rounds bout that should have fight fans on the edge of their seats.

An added attraction will have Leann Perez, wife of Manny ‘Manos’ Perez, singing the National Anthem, her numerous friends and family being there in support while afterward anticipating great fight action.

All in all, look for tomorrow night to be a fun and entertaining evening of quality Colorado professional boxing with Airtight Promotions (Steve Mestas) continuing their mastery.

The 2nd Annual Pikes Peak International Boxing Championships are underway down in Colorado Springs with action now thru Saturday night (beginning 6 p.m.) at the City Auditorium.

All competitors are registered members of USA Boxing.

Hosted by Ybarra’s Boxing Gym, 5060 Alturas Drive, this tournament features competitors from across the nation with Texas, Colorado, New Mexico, Tennessee, Oklahoma and Washington just a few here being represented.
