More and more users today rely on the web and social networking sites to communicate with their near and dear ones. With the ever rising consumption of smartphones and tablets, there has been a fall in the shipment of desktops over a few years. A recent report states that over the next decade there will be nearly 50 billion connected devices across the globe. Also there are around 350 million users accessing Facebook. User interaction across the websites has increased immensely over the years.

Also with the constant use of smartphones and internet, users today are connected round the clock. Smart devices have not only admobilided ease to the users’ lives but also have provided personalised experience to users who require 24/7 access to the internet. Also as there is smartification of devices and an increase in usage of security systems, users today prefer apps, devices as well as connectivity in a manner that whole of their ecosystem seems to be available on a virtual platform.

Enterprises have taken cognizance of this fact and are taking tremendous efforts in leveraging apps that control all the users’ environment. As IOT comes to the mainstream it has made it easy for the devices like TV, doors, windows, cars, refrigerators to be connected with the user via sensors, actuators and internet. The apps help to monitor the devices. Efficient apps are the primary need to fulfill the growing thirst of connected devices and Internet of things. Along with the consumer sector, enterprises have too realized that there is an utmost requirement to streamline their legacy processes with the latest mobility revolutions.

While creating custom mobility solutions for the consumers, developers must keep in mind a mobility strategy that coincides with the business credentials, understand the users’ needs and be careful about the end design that would be visible to and usable by the users. Also the users expect a responsive design that loads the websites quickly and clearly as per the screen size of their smartphones. Nearly 74 percent of the users do not spend more than 5 seconds while a site on the mobile is loading.

Also around 77 percent of the websites take more than 5 seconds to be loaded on the smart devices. Many of the users who are not able to use a site flexibly do not come back to the site again. About 57 percent of the users do not also recommend the sites to others, once it is not easily accessible to them.

Few needs like data security, back end complexity and end-to-end performance must be kept in mind while delivering consumer centric apps. Apps must also be created in a way that renders close coordination with the sensors and actuators that come embedded in devices today. Various such sensor based devices are available in the market that are being greatly used, especially in fields of healthcare, finances etc. As users receive internet connectivity round the clock, there is a growing urge to get things done instantly. Hence rapid optimization of sites and diligent functioning of the apps are a must. With emergence of multiple platforms and combined efforts of earnest mobile apps developers, the path has cleared for a connected planet.
