Legoland Florida held the grand opening ceremony for its new Duplo toddler area on May 22. You can read more about it in this article. The Duplo area is just one of the many expansion projects at the park. Other notable additions include the Legoland Water Park, the Star Wars addition to Miniland, and the recent reopening of the historical Florida swimming pool in the Cypress Gardens area. There's even a cute greenhouse that teaches kids about farming and Fresh from Florida produce.

So what's next for Central Florida's newest theme park? Click the slideshow accompanying this article for scenes from the ongoing construction of the Legoland Hotel, which is slated to open some time in 2015. Once the new hotel debuts, visitors will be able to stay right on site at the park and enjoy the gorgeous scenery on the banks of Lake Eloise.

In the meantime, there are hotels near the park in Winter Haven, and it's less than 45 minutes from the Orlando attractions area if you jump on Highway 27.
