Console version of Guild Wars 2 still in the works

During a conference call today, NCSoft confirmed and reiterated the existence of a Guild Wars 2 console version.  According to The Guild Wars Insider, this version is in the "preparation stage" but there are still ArenaNet employees working on this version of the game.

PC gamers need not worry, though.  According to a post by Martin Kerstein on the Guild Wars 2 Guru forums, the PC version is, as always, the main focus.

I think "stay calm, don't panic" will become my new mantra.

We stated multiple times in public that we have a small team working on a console version, but that we are fully dedicated to make the most kicka** game for PC (I think the official statement did not use the word kicka**, in case someone wants to semantically disect [sic] my post)

The conference call also reinforced the large beta tests in March and April schedule.  From there, a release date will be determined.
