Conservative Christians at the forefront of the culture war

 COMMENTARY

Citizen activism has long been the province of liberals in academic circles, students, media types and others professionally-motivated to promote leftist agendas.  Here and there, conservatives have also entered the fray, notably during the Reagan Revolution with the inclusion of evangelicals. Most recently the Tea Party has focused on the size of government, federal mismanagement, spending and taxation.

Emerging more and more, the movement of Christian conservatives supportive of the Tea Party, drawing on the heritage of the Reagan Revolution, and forwarding the cause of restoring traditional morality to the center of public discussion.

Central to this growing movement are issues of family integrity versus same-sex marriage, the sanctity of life, the rights of the unborn, religious liberty, and freedom of speech, all lighting an awakening of Judeo-Christian values inspirational to the Founding Fathers.

An increase of citizen journalism and activism along these lines can be seen in the work of Lila Rose, president of Live Action, and keynote speaker for the upcoming Freedom Federation conference at Liberty University, details below.

Rose recently went undercover once again with a team of videographers to expose Planned Parenthood, now the subject of debate in Congress over a proposal to remove all public financing of the organization.

Live Action operatives---one posing as a sex trafficker, the other a prostitute---entered several Planned Parenthood clinics and received business advice, consistently.  The video recordings of those visits reveal staff willingness to engage illegality, creating a firestorm, serving to re-energize the pro-life movement.
