Conor Kennedy was arrested outside of the White House earlier today. According to the news posted on E! Online on Feb. 13, he was among a group of activists that were protesting outside the front gates in Washington, D.C. Conor’s dad, Robert Kennedy Jr. was also cuffed as part of the rally.
The younger Kennedy had previously been in the spotlight as Taylor Swift’s ex, but now it seems he is making a name for himself as being part of an environmentalist group that was organized by the Sierra Club in D.C. They were protesting against the Keystone XL pipeline that is being built to carry crude oil to the Texas Gulf Coast from Canada.
“Splash” star Daryl Hannah was also among the 40 people that were arrested. The group was said to be cuffed to the White House gates but then got the real deal on their wrists as they got hauled off to jail. The 18-year-old Kennedy boy was charged with failure to obey lawful orders and to disperse but then was released after paying a $100 bond, as well as the rest of the group.
