Connor Casey has hamstring injury, eliminates homecoming against Colorado

According to Rapids_News on twitter, former Colorado Rapids player and current Philadelphia Union player Connor Casey did not travel with the Union. This ruins any chance of a homecoming and standing ovation by the Rapids fans.

Moments ago, Rapids_News tweeted, “Connor Casey did not travel.” In a subsequent tweet, they said, “Casey pulled a hamstring late in the week. Again didn’t travel. Ruins a homecoming and a perfect sidebar for yours truly”

In the past, Casey has had issues with injuries. Once again, it looks like Casey can’t escape the injury bug.

With the lineups just released moments ago, the Union will be playing in a 4-4-2. The midfielder four of Michael Farfan, Keon Daniel, Danny Cruz, and Brian Carroll will be in a diamond shape. Last week the Union started the game with Sebastien Le Toux as the lone striker.

It is unfortunate that once again that Casey is injured, but the Union have forward depth. Hopefully, the Union can still pull out three points in a match that was postponed one day due to blizzard conditions.

The game kicks off at 3 p.m EST.
