Connection Music Festival is June 8 in Norwalk

The first annual Connection Music Festival will take place on Sunday, June 8 at Crossroads Church on the edge of Norwalk. The Christian music festival is free and open to the general public. The festival will have food and beverages for sale, will offer kid's activities, and will feature live music and a message from CEO of LifeLight Communication (who put on the largest Christian music festival in the nation—the annual LifeLight Festival in Sioux Falls, South Dakota) Alan Greene, as well as Crossroad's Pastor Glen Blumer. The event will kick off at 11 a.m. and will run until dusk.

The headliner for the inaugural Connection Music Festival will be the Rhett Walker Band (pictured). RWB released their debut album Come to the River in July of 2012. The album earned the Nashville rockers a Grammy nomination and 3 GMA Dove Award nominations in 2013. The band released a 4-song EP at the end of 2012, and in March of this year released a new single entitled "Broken Man" which will be the first off of a new, as of yet untitled, studio album.

Here is a look at the schedule for the 2014 Connection Music Festival:

11 a.m.: Worship Service with Crossroads Praise Band and Pastor Glen Blumer
1 p.m.: Jeff Arrandale
1:45 p.m.: As Clouds Break
2:30 p.m.: Bread of Stone
3:45 p.m.: Kerrie Roberts
5 p.m.: 7eventh Time Down (featured video)
6 p.m.: Guest speaker Alan Greene
7 p.m.: Rhett Walker Band

Expect this festival to grow each year. Pastor Glen Blumer was the Senior Pastor at Good News Reformed Church in Sioux Falls when Alan Greene decided to start the LifeLight Festival there. With LifeLight's continued connection to Blumer and Crossroads Church's fledgling Connection Music Festival, plus the 20-acre campus surrounding Crossroads Church, this festival has a great recipe for success and expansion.
