Connecting, discovering, and inspiring: Adobe MAX 2010 in review

The Adobe MAX conference brought over 5,000 designers, developers, and industry leaders together from around the world to the Los Angeles Convention Center this week (October 23rd to the 27th). With many news breaking announcements, with educational sessions and hands-on labs, and with an awards ceremony for the most innovative uses of Adobe software and technology worldwide, Adobe MAX delivered.

At the opening keynote at the Nokia Theatre, Adobe CTO Kevin Lynch revealed much significant information and established a clear tone and focus for the conference. In specific, Lynch discussed the digital media revolution for web design, digital publishing, video, enterprise applications, and gaming.

He demonstrated how web design software Dreamweaver CS5 now offers HTML5 and CSS3 support, enabling designers to build sites all at once for multiple devices and platforms that have different resolutions and screen sizes.

Regarding these different devices, Lynch displayed how Adobe is partnering with magazine publishers to bring the beauty of their print product to the digital sphere in a way that the web does not provide. Special guest Martha Stewart joined Lynch onstage to present the new rich, interactive edition of Martha Stewart Living. Furthermore, Joe Simon, CTO of magazine publisher Conde Nast, also joined Lynch onstage to announce that Conde Nast has chosen Adobe Digital Publishing Suite to create digital magazine editions for their publications, which include The New Yorker, Wired, and many more. Adobe Digital Publishing Suite beta version is now available to the public as of this week.

Many of the keynote highlights continued to present as essential graphic design related topics throughout the entire conference, during the sessions and in the hands-on labs.
