Connecticut State Police investigate three deaths following Amber Alert

The mother of two young children contacted the Connecticut State Police on Feb. 26 to report the disappearance of her two children and the children’s grandmother, according to a new release given by the Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection on Feb. 27.

The children, 6month old Ashton Perry and two year old Alton Perry had been picked up by their grandmother, Debra Denison at 2:30 that afternoon from the children’s North Stonington daycare center. The children and grandmother could not be located.

An investigation into the whereabouts of the children and their grandmother was begun and all area police units were notified. Troopers, State Police and State Police Missing Persons Unit detectives were all involved in the investigation.

Description of the kids, the grandmother and her vehicle were compiled and an Amber Alert was put out.

At 9:30 Tuesday night, a 911 caller reported a suspicious vehicle parked near Lake of Isle in Preston, CT. The civilian caller stated there appeared to be three injured people in the vehicle and that two of them were children.

EMS and troopers were sent to the scene and the vehicle found was the one from the Amber Alert. EMS personnel pronounced two children and one adult dead at the scene. The area was secured by troopers as a crime scene and the deaths are being investigated.

The three victims have tentatively been identified as the three missing persons from the Amber Alert. Autopsies will be performed to determine the manner and cause of their deaths.
